It’s Summer Camp Season at Growin’ Together!

from Growin' Together:

Join us for another exciting summer of freedom and projects.  Each summer our campers have a blast exploring new ideas, projects, and skills. We love hanging out with your children as they discover how many amazing things they can think and do. In our camps, kids are supported to speak up for themselves, to identify and express their feelings, to listen to their instincts and see what they really want, and to learn new skills for making and keeping friends. And, of course, they are always encouraged to participate in all our awesome hands-on projects. You can sign your kids up for a Growin' Together summer camp here>>

Monkeyin’ Around: June 8th-12th & July 20th-24th

Does your child spend lots of time upside down, on the monkey bars or in trees? We are running away to the circus for our Monkeyin’ Around camp. We’ll have artists on hand all week to guide the kids in learning about all the wonderful things their bodies can do.

Activities will include: tumbling, acroyoga, slackline, balance board, and aerial arts.

Freebuildin’: June 15th-19th & July 27th-31st

Join us for our ever-popular freebuild! This week of camp is all things tinkering. If tools and materials fascinate your maker they will love this camp. We’ll practice tool safety as we work with materials from pallets to PVC. Our fearless leader for this week of camp is Nathan Anderson of The Music Bus Rocks.

Musical Zoo: June 22nd-27th & August 3rd-7th

Come explore the world of sound! We’ll make our own instruments and explore instruments from other cultures. We’ll record the sounds we make and mix them to produce a song or two or three.

Activities include: designing instruments, building with found objects, exploring the sounds around us and creating new sounds, recording and mixing music.

Growin’ Green: July 6th-10th

We believe that art and commerce can go hand-in-hand. In this week of camp, Growin’ Together provides opportunities for young creatives to market their ideas and creations. We will take ideas and turn them into projects and art pieces which can then be used to generate income and opportunities for trade at a local Farmer’s Market.

Activities include: brainstorming and idea generation, creation and follow-through, making and marketing products and art pieces, putting funds to good use in the community and our lives.

StoryTellin': July 13th-17th

Everyone has a story or two, and this camp will provide an opportunity for our young entertainers to develop their skills in creating stories and engaging an audience. Have your storyteller join us.

Activities will include: Costume design, make-up and hair design, story creation and development, character development, improv and stage acting.
