Meet an Unshopping Challenger

From Yerdle:

Take The Unshopping Challenge

Los Angeles is a lot bigger than Austin, and it has way more cars, traffic, honky tonks and even oil wells than the Texas state capital. But one area where Austin beats LA: The average Austinite sends one pound more trash to the landfill each day than the typical Angeleno.

But you probably can’t tell the difference between Austinites and folks from the City of Angels just by looking at them. See for yourself in the video below, in which LA resident Michael Waite tells the story of his experience with the Unshopping Challenge.

“I have stacks of things that I don’t want anymore,” says Waite. “I have stacks of kids clothes that they’ve grown out of. I have a stacks of toys that nobody plays with anymore. The Unshopping Challenge is a way for me to take care of all of that.”

Seems like a lot of folks in Austin feel the same way Michael does about unshopping. Perhaps we should join him in taking the challenge.
