Stacy Guidry and JD Porter Speak at the 13TH Renewable Energy Roundup & Green Living Fair

JD Porter, President, and Stacy Guidry, Secretary of Central Texas Zero Waste Alliance at will speak on how to implement the new Zero Waste economy in your local and regional communities at the 13th Annual Renewable Energy Roundup & Green Living Fair (The Roundup). The Roundup is a place to see new ideas in action; to test, explore and interact with products and services for healthy sustainable living. The Roundup takes place at Market Square, 126 West Main St. in Fredericksburg, September 27 – 29, 2013.

“We are so honored to have the opportunity to educate more Texans about the new Zero Waste economy which uses waste diversion techniques that will infuse the local and regional tax bases through reuse, refurbishment, recycling and composting, among other methods. This will provide a broader job pool and comprehensive pollution reduction while keeping valuable discards out of landfills”, said Stacy Guidry.

For 13 years the Renewable Energy Roundup & Green Living Fair has been a perfect weekend destination for Texans who want to enjoy a fall road trip to the Texas Hill Country. The Roundup is the largest all sustainability fair in the South. The Roundup takes place annually the last weekend in September. Tickets are $10 per day, $12 on Saturday or $25 for a weekend pass.

The Central Texas Zero Waste Alliance (www.ctzwa.org) is a 501c3 non-profit group that establishes local Zero Waste chapters in the region. CTZWA recruits and trains citizen leaders to educate fellow community members, business owners and elected officials about the benefits of Zero Waste to help establish policy changes around waste and recycling issues, trumpeting the “highest and best use” mantra for discarded materials.
