Plant Native Grass at McKinney Falls State Park

Location: McKinney Falls State Park, 5808 McKinney Falls Pkwy, Austin, 78744
Parking and Meeting Area: Volunteers will have their entrance day fee waived. Upon entering, tell park staff that your group is there for the volunteer event with Austin Youth River Watch. We will be meeting at the parking area near the Group Dining Hall. From there, the work site is a short walk to Onion Creek.
Activities: Join River Watch staff and students in harvesting and planting deep-rooted native grasses to rebuild the scoured banks of Onion Creek. Appropriate for ages 5 and up.
Bonus: Tools, gloves, and guidance will be provided.
Considerations: All activities will be outside. There will be restrooms in the park, but not near the work site, please plan accordingly. If the event is cancelled, volunteers will be notified by email.
