Seaholm Waterfront Public Input

From the Austin Parks Foundation, the Trail Foundation, and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department –

Austin Parks Foundation (APF) and The Trail Foundation (TTF), in partnership with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), invite Austinites to the second of two community input events on the Seaholm Waterfront Programming and Implementation Study on Saturday, September 23rd from 9am to 11am at the Zilker Botanical Gardens.

The community will have the opportunity to hear about progress made to date on the study. Displays will be available to learn more about programming ideas from Austinites given in-person and through online surveys; and the project consultants, Studio Gang, will be on hand to talk more about the extensive ecological, cultural, and historical research they’ve done on the project. The family-friendly event will feature interactive activities to engage children. A range of potential programming scenarios will also be available for review. Input from the open house will go towards the development of recommendations for the Draft Programming and Implementation Study, which will help city leaders decide how best to support the development of a civic amenity for all of Austin. The study is expected to be completed in the fall.
