Misha is the author and illustrator of the critically acclaimed book, This Phenomenal Life: The Amazing Ways We are Connected with Our Universe (Lyons Press, 2017). Entertaining, colorful, and deceptively full of facts, This Phenomenal Life tells the story of the wondrous ways that humans are always completely at one with our surrounding world. Misha will share some of her favorite selections from over 140 pages of illustrated pop-science factoids, which can be enjoyed by children of all ages. Kids are invited to stick around and work on an assortment of activity sheets where they can illustrate their own science facts, as inspired by the book! Misha Maynerick Blaise is an artist who has partnered with many outstanding brands such as Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, West Elm, CB2, Oopsy Daisy, and the New York Times Style Magazine. Her newest book is called This Phenomenal Life: The Amazing Ways We are Connected with Our Universe (Lyons Press, 2017). She and her husband are the co-owners of a green building company called Equitable Green Group that specializes in super energy efficient construction, Passive House, and is the first company to bring Cross Laminated Timber to residential building in Texas. They have two sons and are happy to call Austin home.
