Halloween Trick-or-Treating at Barton Creek Farmers Market …. with Purple Pepper People Eaters

Austin can start Halloween early at Barton Creek Farmers Market this Saturday morning.  Come in costume and enjoy trick-or-treating, kids and dogs costume contest, the holiday pumpkin-patch, live music and as always plenty of local organic foods for healthy green lifestyles.

Wolfgang Puck has endorsed this market and Audubon Society ranked it as one of the top 10 Farmers Markets in the country along with Madison, Santa Fe, Ithaca, and Ferry’s Plaza.

Each week there is live music weekly hosted by Jimmy Joe Natoli.  Along with his wife Chrissie they form the band The Better Halves. Last weekend, October 20 & 21st Chrissie could be heard live on American Public Media’s A Prairie Home Companion and seen live at Barton Creek Farmers Market too.

Have you ever seen purple peppers?  There are purple peppers at Barton Creek Farmers Market and they’re people eatin’ good!  Other tasty things you’ll find weekly:

  • Local apples and persimmons
  • Order local organic turkeys for Thanksgiving
  • Incredible gluten free breads, cookies, etc
  • Low temp pasteurized non- homogenized milk
  • Fresh organic local veggies and fruits
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Antibiotic and hormone free chicken, beef, lamb, goat, pork and bison
