Hundreds of Austinites Marched for Action on Climate

Climate March

What's Inside...

Nearly a thousand people gathered at the Texas State Capitol building on Sunday for the Austin Climate March, demanding serious action on climate change from the world’s leaders. The event was held in advance of the UN Climate Conference (which began on Monday) in an attempt to drum up support for a strong international commitment to fighting climate change.
Several local environmental leaders also spoke out at the march, including Brandi Clark Burton, senior policy advisor to Austin Mayor Steve Adler (and AEN Founder). A full copy of her speech, which goes into the detail about the City’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, is available here>>The march itself was lively and upbeat, filled with music and lots of passionate people. For a full recap of the day’s events (including lots of pictures), be sure to check out Al Braden’s latest blog>>
