Saint Louise House

Saint Louise House—originally called VinCare Services of Austin—is a grassroots organization inspired by the Vincentian model of service to the poor.

Saint Louise House was founded in 2000 to address the drastic shortage of safe housing and supportive services for homeless women and children. They provide deeply affordable and supportive housing for low income homeless women and their children with the goal of helping families develop long-term stability.

To achieve their mission of empowering women with children to overcome homelessness, Saint Louise House provides housing and a program that includes case management, counseling, life skills training and employment services.

Your donations go into new homes for homeless women with children.

Pro Tip – If you’re interested in donating, you can call the Saint Louise House at 512-302-0027 during business hours. (If you are donating a large item of furniture, they might request that you send along a photo so they can be certain they have space for it). Saint Louise House staff will then set up a time for you to drop off your items at a storage unit.

Wondering what to donate? When deciding whether or not to share a donation with Saint Louise House, use this simple litmus test – if you would consider passing your items onto family and/or friends, then they will most likely be welcomed at Saint Louise House. (Oh and if you’re donating a skillet/pots/pans make sure they don’t have big scratches on it).
