In recognition of Earth Month, throughout April, H-E-B will be running an eco-themed tear pad campaign in most of its stores.

Here’s how it works:

• When you go to check out at H-E-B there will be a tear pad at the cash register where you can choose to add a $1, $3, or $5 donation onto your bill
• That money will go to EarthShare of Texas, a workplace giving nonprofit that will distribute the money to the local organizations that you love, including the Austin Parks Foundation, Austin Youth River Watch, Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems, Colorado River Alliance, Ecology Action, National Wildlife Federation, Public Citizen, Sierra Club, Sustainable Food Center, Texas Campaign for the Environment, and TreeFolks.
