Reforesting Along The Blanco River

Reforesting Along The Blanco River

Big Tree

What's Inside...

Congratulations to TreeFolks, who just received a $94,000 grant to fund reforestation work along the Blanco River in Hays County. TreeFolks was one of five organizations to receive large grants from Impact Austin, a local women’s philanthropy group, during an awards ceremony at Austin City Hall on last week.

TreeFolks’ Blanco River Reforestation Project works to plant trees and restore vegetation along the banks of the Blanco River, which suffered from devastating floods in 2015. The reforestation effort will aid in providing clean air and water, shading and stabilizing the river’s edges, and potentially slowing down future floods. More information about the Blanco River Reforestation Project, including how to apply for services or make a donation, is available here>>
