[Open House] Sunday, January 31st from 10am to 1pm Austin Creative Reuse is hosting an Open House for Educators at the new Creative Reuse Center. Teachers will be able to get goodies for their classrooms, ideas for hands-on lessons, and inspiration for how to creatively reuse common materials. More info>>

[Happy Hour] Monday, February 1st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm the Young Sierrans are having their monthly happy hour at theWaller Creek Pub House. Young Sierrans is the group of Sierra Club folks between the ages of 21 and 39. [Watering Workshop] Wednesday, February 3rd from 6:30pm to 8:30pm Austin Water is hosting a public workshop on its proposal to move to permanent one-day-per-week watering restrictions. Austin Water is advocating for the change, which it says is a critical tool in keeping the Highland Lakes at stable levels. The workshop will be a chance for Austin Water to review all of the public input and feedback on the proposal it has received over the past several weeks. More info>>

[Reuse Workshop] Thursday, February 4th and Friday, February 5th Austin Resource Recovery is hosting a Deconstruction Workshop for contractors, architects, municipal employees, building owners and others interested in deconstruction and building materials salvage. Trained deconstruction crews can salvage as much as 80 percent of a building’s materials, such as doors, windows, cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, framing lumber, roofing materials, and flooring. The workshop will provide an overview of this bourgeoning industry and will be held at the Entrepreneur Center of Austin. More info>>
