Art of Reuse: Headdress Workshop

Have you ever admired a fabulous headdress at an event or online? Have a bunch of feathers, flowers, and bones with no idea how to make it work? Come to create a unique and custom piece from repurposed materials that will last through the festivals and special events without falling off or breaking down.
We can work with headbands for smaller pieces but its recommended that you bring in a baseball cap or visor with adjustable bands in the back for the bigger pieces with more height and weight. We will have many headbands and more.
Lindsay Loftin is a local performance artist, activist, and professional mermaid. Her custom headdresses help her book gigs and play the part as well as bring joy and creative inspiration to her audiences of all ages. She is excited to be your guide for this piece of custom wearable art and hopes to see you around town rocking it! Lindsay believes that life is art and that we can bring more beauty, fun, and passion to the world through how we choose to dress. She is inspired by nature, bold colors, and fun textures and enjoys making pieces that help create a character. Her favorite headdresses are inspired by belly dance, mermaids, and fairies.
