Civics 101: How To Get Involved

Local government is important. It’s the level of government that impacts your daily life the most… and yet, most people don’t know how to get involved.
That’s why we’re hosting this happy hour.
At last month’s happy hour, we gave you a quick lesson on how local government works. This month, we’re taking things a step further and teaching you how to really get involved and make a difference right here in Austin. We’ll teach you how to serve on a city board or commission and help you connect with local nonprofit/advocacy organizations that are in need of volunteers just like you!
Don’t even know what a city board or commission is? Don’t worry! We’ll go over all the basics with you. Just bring yourself and some enthusiam. After all, this is your city. Learn how to get involved and make a difference with our entire Civics 101 Happy Hour series.
