Raising Backyard Chickens

From the Natural Gardener and the Backyard Poultry Meetup –
Come hear Michelle Hernandez, Founder of the Funky Chicken Coop Tour and President of Urban Poultry Association of Texas, talk about raising chickens! Chickens not only provide tasty, nutritious eggs, but they are also great pets – interesting, communicative, smart in their own way, and very humorous. The topics to be covered include – recommended size of flock, breeds of layers and their attributes, starting new chicks, feed sources, hen house design, chicken tractors, predators, roosters, and more!
The class begins at 9am and is about 1 hour long. Classes are subject to change. Please call first to confirm. Classes are held outdoors under an open air canopy (“The Revival Tent”) – please dress for the weather. Arrive early for best seating. You are welcome to bring your own chair. If possible, please park on Bell Drive, adjacent to the Tent.
