From Travis County –

Spend your lunch hour with an expert! The Travis County Conserve program hosts speakers on environmental topics from composting to light pollution. Plenty of time is provided for Q & A, so come with questions. This month, the topic is the Texas Flood Response Project.

The Texas Flood Response Study will produce geospatial map services and data analytics, derived from the National Water Model forecasts, of where flood impacts are projected in rivers and streams before actual rainfall has occurred and also show in “near real time” current flood conditions as part of a common operating picture. The objective is to put timely, actionable intelligence in the hands of emergency managers during flood events in our state for the purpose of making high consequence/high impact decisions.
