The ABC’s of the Green New Deal with Sunrise ATX

Austin DSA and Sunrise ATX will host a 90 minute session on the basics of climate change, how we got here, and how the Green New Deal, as socialists envision it, can help us solve the great existential challenge of our time.
The session will open with a short presentation on the problem of climate change and how it got so bad (hint: we call it “capitalism”) followed by breakout groups on Green New Deal policies that can help us solve the underlying crisis and care for those least responsible and most affected by it. Then we’ll talk about our campaigns and how you can get involved locally in this exciting work.
The event is kid friendly (no childcare on site though, unfortunately) and wheelchair accessible. More details to come, but make plans now to join us!
