From the League of Women Voters of the Austin Area –

A New Equation for Transportation and Accessibility: New Designs and New Routes Equal More Opportunities

This program is part of the update study process for the LWV Austin Area position on Transportation. We are collaborating with the Department of Transportation to foster additional outreach and understanding. We will hear from those working in the area to help develop a new plan for Austin’s transportation systems, including information about the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan and Project Connect.

Planning Committee and Speakers:

Britin Bostick, Chair, LWV Austin Transportation Position Update Committee, and Transportation Issue Chair, LWV Texas.

Annick Beaudet, Assistant Director, Austin Transportation Department, City of Austin

Coleen Gentles, GIS Analyst, Public Works Department, City of Austin

Todd Hemingson, Executive Vice President Planning and Development, Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Ann Kitchen, Councilmember for District 5, Chair, the City of Austin’s Mobility Committee.

Lea Masiello and Mary Culinane, LWV Austin, Co-VPS for Programs

Additional speakers will join us from the team working on the new mobility plan for Austin, including specialists in sidewalk safety, school route safety, bike routes, urban trails, and more!

The program is FREE and open to the public.

We will have light refreshments after the discussion. We will appreciate your contributions to the refreshment table–please bring anything you wish!
