Transportation Electrification Community Workshop

February 4 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Transportation Electrification Community Workshop

Hosted by the City of Austin Office of Sustainability –

Join the City’s Office of Sustainability to give your input on Electric Vehicle adoption in Austin.

The Office of Sustainability is in the process of updating Austin’s Community Climate Plan. As part of that process, we’re talking with community members to understand their goals, barriers, hopes, and dreams when it comes to reducing our community carbon footprint.

One the many potential solutions to the climate crisis is electrifying our transportation system. In this workshop, we are interested to hear your thoughts about electric vehicle adoption in Austin.

At this workshop, you will:

  • Provide input and feedback to City staff about the challenges and barriers to reaching Austin’s climate goals.
  • Discuss the positives and negatives of accelerating the transition to zero-emission electric transportation options.
  • Help identify strategies to reduce carbon emissions from transportation in Austin.

Refreshments and childcare:

Food and drinks will be provided, and supervised child activities will be available for kids age 3 and up.

More details:

This is one of five different workshops that coincide with the five advisory groups working on the Climate Plan Update: Transportation Electrification (this workshop), Transportation and Land Use, Sustainable Buildings, Consumption of Goods, and Natural Systems.

The overall goal of the Climate Plan is to identify tangible and quantifiable actions that local government, big business, and community members can undertake in the next 5-10 years that will help reach our community’s goal of reducing at least as many global warming emissions as we create by 2050.
