Help Connect Children to Nature

Children in Nature

What's Inside...

The city is continuing its efforts to better connect children with nature and is once again, looking for public input. As you might remember, the city is currently working on developing a strategic plan to ensure that the children who need it the most have access to the outdoors and nature in their neighborhoods. This effort is being funded by a $25,000 grant from the national Cities Connecting Children to Nature Initiative.

As part of this effort, the city’s Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting several focus group meetings to better understand what people like to do in nature, what the biggest barriers are to spending more time outside, and how people would like to see parks and green space improved.
