You Can Help Grow Austin’s Local Food Movement

Sustainable Food Center

Did you know? Less than 1 percent of the food consumed here in Austin is produced locally.

That’s why the Sustainable Food Center (a local nonprofit organization) works so hard to improve healthy and local food access for everyone living in this city. But they can’t do it without your help.

Right now, they’re looking for volunteers to help with their Grow Local program (which helps people gain the skills, access the land, and find the resources necessary to grow their own food) as well as with their weekly farmers markets.

Interested? You can learn more about the volunteer positions here and apply by sending an email to Sergio Torres at sergio@sustainablefoodcenter.org.
